Safety tournament by MES employees for Ostrovno residents
As part of the "Do Not Leave Children Unattended!" campaign, employees of the propaganda center of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted large-scale information and prevention work with residents of the rural settlement of Ostrovno, Beshenkovichi District.
The educational events were aimed at both the youngest villagers, as well as schoolchildren and their parents. The start of the propaganda events was a visit to a preschool educational institution. Thanks to the lesson from rescuers, the kindergarten children remembered the "golden rule" - matches are not toys for children. The girls and boys also learned that there can be many other items in the house that hold many dangers. And in this, they were helped not only by the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, but also by the characters of the cartoon "Magic Book". The little ones not only mastered the rules of safe behavior, but also actions in case of an emergency: how to call rescuers, how dangerous a body of water can be if you are there without adult supervision.
The event for secondary school students was no less informative. Of course, thanks to the efforts of teachers, the children replenish their baggage of useful knowledge on life safety throughout the academic year, but the lesson from rescuers also laid a certain foundation that will allow students to avoid emergencies during the holiday period.
The final point in the training of Ostrovno residents was the bright family relay race "Safety Tournament". While
Pairs of parents and children went through challenge stages set up by rescuers, trying to complete them as clearly and quickly as possible to outdo their rivals. Nearby, the Ministry of Emergency Situations operated an interactive area with games and contests. Cultural workers presented creative performances, and the territorial social center for the protection of the population showcased creative works by their wards. In parallel, participating families and all interested individuals took tests as part of the PR campaign "Spend Time Usefully." Caring parents who conscientiously approach teaching children safety rules were awarded with letters of gratitude. The logical conclusion was the awarding of winners and participants. First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Directorate, Andrey Gavrilenko, along with representatives of the district's public organizations, conveyed words of gratitude and gifts to the families.
