Creative groups from five countries are expected at the "Dnieper Voices in Dubrovna" festival.
The XXX International Festival of Song and Music "Dneprovskiye Golosa v Dubrovne" will be held from June 21 to 23.
The festival will bring together creative groups from five countries: Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, and the Republic of Korea. The latter will be represented by the Republican Center for National Cultures of Minsk. Russian artists will arrive from the Smolensk, Pskov regions, and the Republic of Tatarstan. "This year we expect 23 groups, which is about 300 people," explained the head of the culture sector.
The program is designed for three days, the first of which will feature a youth festival, performances by local groups and ensembles, and young finalists of the regional vocal competition "Solovyinyye Notki" (Nightingale Notes). The guests will be introduced on June 22, and on the same day, the official opening of the anniversary festival will take place. A new project for the festival will be "Venok Druzhby" (Wreath of Friendship). According to the concept, each group will weave its ribbon with the name of the city from which they came into it. And on Sunday, at the closing gala concert, the finished wreath will be solemnly launched down the Dnieper River.
"All groups and guests of the festival will take part in the implementation of this project. An integral part of the wreath will be oak branches – a symbol of our city with a great historical past. Since ancient times, it was believed that when making a wreath, a person weaves their destiny into it, so their thoughts should be kind, pure, and beautiful. I am sure that our wreath of friendship will not only be beautiful but will also be an embodiment of strong, friendly, and peace-loving energy," said Elena Yakovenko.
Since the festival is held in the year of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, a series of projects is dedicated to the patriotic theme. A rally, a local history conference on a feat that will live for centuries, a play based on I. Grekova's "Widow's Steamer" staged by the district culture center, a discussion platform with the participation of artists from the Youth Estrada Theater at the children's art school, and a concert of finalists of the regional competition of young performers "Songs of the Youth of Our Fathers." Every year, the festival hosts a solemn rally-requiem at the "Rylenkі" memorial complex. Here, this time, the folk action "With a Song – to Victory" will also take place. Those present will sing "Let's Bow Down to Those Great Years" in unison. An event dedicated to the Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the Genocide of the Belarusian People will also be held at the memorial.
An artists' plein air, a craft fair, theatrical platforms, a presentation exhibition, contests, and various concerts
The third day of the forum will be opened by a motor rally with the participation of a motorcycle club from Orsha. About three dozen motorcycles, and likely more, will later escort participants to the memorial sign and lead the theatrical procession. The column will proceed to the city stadium, where at the gala concert, the two-wheeled vehicles will make a lap of honor with the flags of the five participating countries. The award ceremony for the contest winners will also take place here. The anniversary festival will conclude with a bang - the sky over Dubroŭna will be colored by a festive fireworks display. "BELTA"
