Strengthening Discipline and Labor Protection: An Important Issue Discussed at the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Meeting
Today, at the meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the issue "On strengthening labor discipline, the state of working conditions and labor protection in organizations of the Vitebsk region and the progress of implementing the requirements of Directive of the President of the Republic of Belarus of March 11, 2004 No. 1" is being considered.
Directive of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 1 was adopted among the first, and this emphasizes its importance for our society. How are we implementing it, what are the problematic issues? This agenda is relevant and is systematically considered at narrow meetings, at meetings of the regional executive committee, emphasized the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin.
The main task is to eliminate conditions that lead to violations. This was stated by the Chairman of the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Boris Efremov.
– Based on the results of 9 months, it can be concluded that the indicator of total mortality from controllable external causes remains at the level of the same period last year. There is a decrease in such types as suicides and alcohol poisoning. 26 mobile teams visited about 1100 organizations of various forms of ownership over 9 months – agro-industrial complex, industry, construction. About 10 thousand remarks were issued. It should be noted that about 78% of them are eliminated within 1-2 weeks. We revisited about 200 enterprises where there are problems with eliminating remarks in order to take more radical measures, ranging from administrative responsibility to penalties. The main task is to eliminate the conditions that cause violations, so that citizens of the Vitebsk region and work collectives return home healthy after work. In general, the situation in the areas under consideration, meaning mortality from external causes, is manageable. I am confident that we will complete the current year with quite good figures, in any case, not higher than last year's level.
