A one-year-old child died in a fire in Belarus

On March 19, at 10:38 AM, Lyakhovichi District Department for Emergency Situations received a report of a fire in a residential wooden house in the village of Zubelevichi.

As a result of the fire, the roof, ceiling, interior finishing, and property were damaged by fire. A child born in 2021 died in the fire. Before the arrival of the Ministry of Emergency Situations units, the mother rescued a child born in 2019, who was not injured. The owner's daughter, who is on parental leave, sustained flame burns of the 1st-2nd-3a degree (45%) to her head, torso, and lower extremities while attempting to extinguish the fire and rescue her son. She was taken to the intensive care unit of the Healthcare Institution "Lyakhovichi Central District Hospital." The cause of the fire is under investigation.
