As previously reported, one of the topics of the meeting between the President of Belarus and the leadership of the Council of Ministers was the proposal to transfer the regulatory function in the tourism sector from the Ministry of Sport and Tourism to the National Tourism Agency. Nikolai Snopkov delivered a report on the matter.

"After a complex discussion, the head of state supported the government's initiative, but with personal responsibility for achieving the result," Nikolai Snopkov told journalists. - We plan to double the share of this sector in GDP to 4% with annual tracking and marking of the result. And with personal responsibility for achieving the corresponding result annually."

According to him, the set goals are planned to be achieved, including by restructuring the sector into a real vertical and through interaction between the state and business. The First Deputy Prime Minister also drew attention to the multifaceted nature of the tourism sector, which interacts with 55 types of economic activity.
