On December 17, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 439 "On Rent for Land Plots in State Ownership." BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The document establishes the amount of such rent, which is equal to the amount of land tax calculated in accordance with tax legislation. At the same time, taxpayers of rent will be subject to the land tax benefits provided for by the Tax Code.

The current deadlines for paying rent, as well as the deadlines for legal entities to submit rent amounts to tax authorities, are preserved.

Lease agreements will be brought into compliance with the decree gradually – upon receipt of applications from tenants, in case of extension of land lease terms, and when local authorities and administrations of free economic zones (FEZs) make decisions on state registration of changes to leased land plots.

From January 1, 2026, the provisions of the decree will apply to all land plots in state ownership leased by local executive committees and FEZ administrations.

The measures provided for by the decree are aimed at improving the system of collecting rent for land plots and creating equal conditions for all land users, regardless of the type of rights to the land plots.
