Fodder is being actively harvested for livestock in Beshenkovichi
Fodder harvesting is underway in the Beshenkovichi district. According to the district agricultural department, as of yesterday, 5.3 thousand hectares of perennial grasses have been mowed in the first cutting, or 83% of the planned area. More than 36 thousand tons of silage and 500 tons of hay have been harvested. This amounts to 11.04 feed units per conventional head of cattle.
The fodder harvesting team of ASB-Agro Novator CJSC is working responsibly and diligently. According to the plan, the first cutting of grasses needs to be harvested from an area of 2300 hectares. This is the largest area of grasses in the district. As of yesterday, the "Novator" team had mowed 2095 hectares. 11886 tons of silage and 129 tons of hay have already been harvested. This amounts to 10.40 feed units per conventional head of cattle. The result is better than last year.
Half of the mowed area – 1055 hectares – is the work of machine operator Alexey Karalin. He has been working in this responsible position for several years. This is his third season with the KMR-9 mower, which has several advantages, including high productivity, reliability, and ease of operation. Incidentally, this unit is the only one of its kind in the district.
"We work from early morning until late evening. We are used to this rhythm. We will store the fodder and complete the assigned task," Alexey is confident. And that says it all!
