The first autumn fair was held in Beshenkovichi
On September 27, the first autumn agricultural fair was held in Beshenkovichi. Grain, potatoes, fresh vegetables and fruits, honey, meat, seedlings of fruit trees and shrubs, as well as much more were available for purchase at affordable prices, which was appreciated by the residents of Beshenkovichi district.
The area opposite the post office turned into a real shopping center from early morning. Agricultural enterprises, farms, consumer cooperatives, and citizens who grew vegetables and fruits on their plots set up their products and goods here.
There were plenty of buyers near almost every stall. Perhaps the most popular item at the fair was fresh fish. In total, the Beshenkovichi branch of the regional consumer union sold 600 kg of carp and grass carp!
Of course, traditional autumn gifts were also sold. Potatoes, onions, beets, cabbage, and carrots were packed in mesh bags for the convenience of buyers. Grain was in high demand.
The fair organizers prepared an engaging entertainment program for the attendees. Amateur art groups from cultural institutions created a festive atmosphere for the locals. Organizations and institutions of the district presented their homesteads. The homestead of Secondary School No. 1 and Secondary School No. 2 of the urban settlement was recognized as the best by the jury, headed by the chairperson of the district executive committee, Galina Unukovich.
In the nomination "We sow, we plow, we sing, and we dance," the homesteads of the Ostrovensky and Sorzhitsky rural councils were recognized. In the nomination "Material from nature — talent from masters," the homestead of the Territorial Center for Social Services of the Population was noted. In the nomination "Exotic Wonder," the homesteads of the Bochaykovsky and Verkhovsky rural councils were recognized. In the nomination "Floral Composition," the homesteads of the Ullsky, Verkhnekrivinsky, and Beshenkovichsky rural councils were recognized. In the nomination "Tasty Summer," the homestead of the district center for children and youth and preschool educational institutions was recognized.
Following the established tradition, a no-lose lottery was held at the fair. Over 150 prizes in total! The main prize was a calf, which was won by Nikolay Masko. Natalya Baranovskaya won a carload of organic fertilizer, and Olga Shipulya won a carload of firewood.
For the residents of the district, the fair is a place where they can purchase natural products at low prices, and for those who produce them, it is an opportunity to sell their products.
