Preventive Campaign "Home Without Violence" Held in Beshenkovichi

From March 10 to 16, the republican preventive campaign "Home Without Violence" was held in the Beshenkovichi district.

Citizens who commit domestic violence, were brought to administrative responsibility for committing offenses while intoxicated, as well as those who are unemployed, have returned from places of deprivation of liberty, are registered with the criminal executive inspection, and lead an antisocial lifestyle, were invited to the main hall of the district executive committee on Thursday.

A meeting of the Council of the Public Law and Order Point of Beshenkovichi was held here. The head of the Department of Internal Affairs, Yuri Kachanov, the rector of the Church of the Prophet Elijah in Beshenkovichi, Archpriest Vitaly Kisel, and the narcologist of the Central District Hospital, Nina Muratova, took part in a preventive conversation with those who have stumbled and are prone to illegal actions.

How to live and what lifestyle to lead is entirely up to us. No agreement, advice, or law will help if a person does not want to change their life for the better. The members of the Council and the clergyman tried to convey this simple truth to the invited guests.

As reported by Nina Pavlovna Muratova, 334 individuals are registered with the narcologist at the Central District Hospital due to alcohol abuse. Alcoholism is a major global problem. According to the WHO, alcohol is the cause of every third death to some extent. The average life expectancy of people with alcoholism is 15-20 years shorter than that of people who do not abuse alcohol. Two-thirds of accident victims were intoxicated at the time of the incident. Almost every fourth alcoholic has attempted suicide at least once in their life. Approximately 50% of all crime, 96% of murders...

The figures presented could not go unnoticed and prompted reflection. "A harmful habit is a dead end. The Great Lent is currently underway – a time for repentance, prayer, spiritual purification, and self-transformation. Come to church, offer a prayer to the Almighty, ask for forgiveness for your sins, for God's mercy, exercise reason, and embark on the true and righteous path of salvation, do not fall into the abyss of sin," advised Father Vitaly, addressing domestic abusers. The Head of the District Department of Internal Affairs, Yu. V. Kachanov, reminded those present of the responsibility for unlawful behavior.

It is shameful and regrettable for people who, regardless of age, drink heavily, cause domestic scandals, and resort to violence against their relatives and loved ones. But as they say, a drop can wear away a stone...

The Council issued warnings to citizens about possible consequences in case of continued antisocial behavior in the future. The slightest violence against loved ones will be suppressed in the harshest manner.
