Solemn events were held in Beshenkovichi as part of the "Stones of Memory" project

Ceremonial events within the framework of the "Stones of Memory" project have commenced at the Holy Ilyinsky Church.

A prayer service for the commencement of a good deed and the consecration of banners took place here.

Participants of the "Stones of Memory" project honored the memory of the Fatherland's defenders at the mass grave on Internatsionalnaya Street.

It was here, three years ago, that Stepan Kovalyonok, a pilot of a military aircraft and a native of the Beshenkovichi district, found his eternal rest.

The remains of our fellow countryman were found near the resort town of Gelendzhik. Three years ago, thanks to the efforts of parliamentarians from Belarus and Russia, the ashes of the pilot were reburied in his native land – in a mass grave in Beshenkovichi.

"We are the last generation that saw the veterans of the Great Patriotic War alive," emphasized Alexander Erashov, Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee, during the requiem rally. "Our sacred duty to them is to preserve the memory of the Great Feat, to pass it on to future generations, to protect and strengthen peace in our land, and to make it richer and more beautiful through creative labor!"

From the welcome address to the participants of the Memory Stone transfer by Boris Gryzlov, Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Belarus:

"The memory of those who helped bring the Great Victory closer with their own blood will live forever in us, in the hearts of the grateful descendants of the generation of Victors. We will proudly carry the eternal Banner of Victory. This is our common duty!"

The Stone of Memory has been handed over to the Russian delegation for delivery to Kronstadt, to its installation site.

The "Stones of Memory" project is an initiative dedicated to immortalizing the heroism of Belarusian and Russian sailors who defended the legendary Malaya Zemlya.

Commemorative events within the framework of the "Stones of Memory" project continued at the district cultural center.

A concert-film lecture "Belarus is the Motherland of Naval Heroes" was held here.
