A Requiem Rally Held at the Mass Grave of Fascism Victims in Beshenkovichi
The event is dedicated to the upcoming Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Khatyn Tragedy and all Belarusian villages destroyed by the Nazis during the Great Patriotic War.
Representatives of different generations, religious denominations, political parties, and public associations gathered to honor the memory of innocent victims.
The rally was attended by the Chairperson of the District Executive Committee, Galina Unukovich.
...On March 22, 1943, in Khatyn, punitive forces burned 149 people alive. The same terrible fate befell 39 residents of the village of Korenevo in our district, which is called the "sister of Khatyn."
Rally participants laid flowers at the monument and honored the memory of the fallen with a minute of silence.
The memory of those terrible events is our duty to the past and a guarantee of a peaceful future, so that such tragedies never happen again on Belarusian soil.
