An auto rally «On the Road to Victory!» was held in the Beshenkovichi district.
On May 8, on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, an automobile rally "On the Road of Victory!" was held in Beshenkovichi district, which gathered several dozen residents of the region under its banners.
The starting point of the automobile rally was the Mound of Glory. Here, participants of the event were sent on their way by students of Secondary School No. 2 of the urban settlement, who performed a patriotic song for everyone.
Along the route of the motor rally, grateful descendants of the victors honored the memory of the Fatherland's defenders at the mass grave in Zadorozhye.
After that, they proceeded to the agro-town of Ostrovno.
In the agro-town of Ostrovno, a rally was held at the foot of the mass grave in memory of the soldiers who died liberating the village of Ostrovno.
In this mass grave rest 450 soldiers of the Red Army and 1 resistance fighter who died defending in 1941 and liberating in 1944 the settlement of Ostrovno and its surroundings.
A monument in the form of a reinforced concrete sculpture of a soldier with a rifle on a concrete pedestal was erected in 1969 at the site of distant bloody battles.
In 2025, a large-scale reconstruction was carried out here, costing approximately 25,000 rubles. The pedestal was restored, the surrounding area was landscaped, and the lists of the fallen were verified and inscribed.
