A field meeting of the presidium of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies was held in the Beshenkovichi district

В Бешенковичском районе прошло выездное заседание президиума Витебского областного Совета депутатов

A field meeting of the presidium of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies was held in the agro-town of Ulla, Beshenkovichi District.

The presidium's agenda was quite extensive, both in terms of discussing key issues related to preventing fires in natural ecosystems and improving land management, and its practical part, during which the former workshop building was demolished by explosion.

The event was attended by Dmitry Demidov, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies; Sergey Meshkleshkin, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and Head of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations; chairmen of district councils of deputies; deputy chairmen of city and district executive committees responsible for construction; heads of structural divisions of the regional and district executive committees, state bodies and organizations; and chairmen of rural executive committees of the district.

«The issues of preventing fires in ecosystems are relevant for our region; we are observing an increase in fires compared to the same period last year,»
— emphasized Dmitry Demidov, opening the meeting.

The head of the regional parliamentary group drew the attention of all stakeholders to the need for timely land management, mowing dry vegetation, and demolishing dilapidated and vacant households — in general, to those aspects that contribute to fires and lead to colossal damage, and sometimes to tragic incidents.

Analyzing the current situation, drawing conclusions, and outlining a work plan for the future are the main goals of the meeting.

The topic of the meeting was under special control of the Beshenkovichi District Executive Committee and all preventive entities, as fires can cause significant harm to the economy, the environment, and human health.

The head of the district, Galina Unukovich, emphasized this to the participants of the meeting.

«Unfortunately, in 2024, the first quarter of 2025, and in our district, there is an increase in fires in the natural ecosystem, largely related to the human factor. Therefore, preventive work is paramount. A rather broad and comprehensive set of measures is being implemented for land management. It is aimed at creating and maintaining a comfortable, safe, and modern living environment for people.»

The "Dozhinki — 2024" event gave a significant impetus to the development of the region and progress in this direction. Galina Unukovich expressed words of gratitude to the Regional Council of Deputies and the Regional Executive Committee for their colossal support in the development of our region.

"A lot has been done, but there is still a lot of work ahead," emphasized the head of the district and thanked the leadership of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations for their interest in the district regarding the demolition of a long-unused facility of a former agricultural enterprise.

Participants of the meeting of the presidium of the regional council of deputies honored the memory of the fallen defenders of the Fatherland.

A rally was held at the monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union Lev Mikhailovich Dovator.
