Beshenkovichi District Develops Optimal Outdoor Lighting Schedule
This information was provided by the Department of Architecture and Construction, Housing and Communal Services of the District Executive Committee.
To ensure rational electricity consumption, the schedule will be based on the astronomical calendar of sunrise and sunset.
The system will operate as follows: lights will turn on 45 minutes after sunset and turn off 45 minutes before sunrise.
However, depending on meteorological and seasonal conditions, outdoor lighting in the morning hours may be switched off later than scheduled, and in the evening hours, it may be switched on earlier.
This schedule has been determined at the level of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
"It took several days in Beshenkovichi to reconfigure the automatic system to the new schedule and fine-tune it," explained Yevgeny Kondratenko, Head of the Department. "Therefore, there were some deviations in the timing of switching the lighting on and off. Now the system is adjusted and operating normally."
At the same time, a special lighting regime continues to be in effect in areas of increased responsibility – on central thoroughfares. Safety issues are an absolute priority.
We remind you that on February 3, Alexander Lukashenko instructed to adjust the street lighting schedule to save electricity and eliminate excessive consumption. The President noted that currently, lighting is switched off too late in the morning and switched on too early, when it is already sufficiently light outside.
