In the village of Hankavichy, an outbuilding burned down due to grass fires

On 15.03.2022 at 14:46, the duty officer of the Beshenkovichi Regional Department for Emergency Situations received a report from citizens about a fire in an outbuilding in the village of Hankovichi, Vernekrivenskoye rural council, Beshenkovichi district.

Upon arrival of the Ministry of Emergency Situations units at the scene, open burning of the outbuilding and vegetation around it was observed. As a result of the fire, the roof and walls of the outbuilding were damaged.

The considered version of the cause of the fire is arson of dry vegetation, which resulted in the ignition of the building.

Burning of dry vegetation and stubble is prohibited! Illegal burning of dry vegetation, grass in its natural state, as well as stubble and crop residues in fields, or failure to take measures to prevent fires on land plots, entails the imposition of a fine ranging from ten to thirty basic units, Article 16.40 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Belarus.

Burning of garbage on a household plot is allowed:

- only in calm weather;

- at a safe distance from buildings;

- under constant supervision;

- in the presence of primary fire extinguishing means (a bucket of water, a shovel).
