Results of the "Our Children" charity campaign summarized in Vitebsk

The results of the "Our Children" charity campaign, which became the concluding chord of a large-scale marathon of good deeds, were summarized in Vitebsk. For a month, volunteers and caring citizens fulfilled hundreds of children's wishes, collecting a significant number of gifts for those in need.

Galina Zhelanova, Chairperson of the regional organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Society, spoke about the results of the charity marathon, which started on December 1 and lasted 45 days. According to her, this year's gift collection campaign exceeded all expectations.

"We had five locations, which allowed us to increase the number of children who received gifts to more than a thousand across the region," noted Galina Zhelanova.

In addition, the organization did not leave elderly citizens unattended, participating in the "From the Bottom of My Heart" campaign.

"We visited nursing homes and residential care facilities, such as the Bogushevsky boarding house, as well as our regional specialized center, where there are 150 patients. Today we are heading to the Novopolotsk nursing home, where 85 patients are waiting for us," she added.

Galina Zhelanova emphasized that the success of the campaign was made possible thanks to the joint efforts of Vitebsk residents, volunteers, and the media.

"I am sincerely grateful to everyone who responded and took part in the campaign," she concluded.

Alesya Kosareva, Chairperson of the Vitebsk City Organization of the Belarusian Red Cross, noted that this year the activity of participants exceeded all expectations.

"We received more than 1.2 thousand gifts from the public and formed 540 gift sets. We also managed to collect over 110 packs of diapers, more than 450 toys, stationery, and sweet sets. This allowed us to bring joy to many children," said Alesya Kosareva.

The main recipients of gifts were babies from the regional specialized Children's Home. Thanks to the generosity of the townspeople, gifts will also be transferred to six educational institutions in Vitebsk, including a correctional and developmental center, specialized kindergartens, and a special school.

Volunteers, including students from Gymnasium No. 7 named after P. Kondratenko and Secondary School No. 38 of Vitebsk, as well as students from the Technological University, played a key role in organizing and conducting the campaign.

"This is our first time participating in the 'Wish Tree,' and it was not difficult. People actively responded to our call to participate in the marathon of good deeds," shared Maxim Batursky, a student of Secondary School No. 38, commander of the youth law enforcement squad "Volat" named after Viktor Ozerov, and commander of the volunteer squad "Friendship."
