Youth Forum "#WEARETOGETHER35" Held in Vitebsk
The Youth Forum "#WEARETOGETHER35" was held at VSU named after P.M. Masherov. The forum was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Anzhelika Nikitina, Prosecutor of Vitebsk Region Andrey Skurat, Head of the Tax Inspectorate for Vitebsk Region Valery Lobatsevich, and representatives of other government bodies.
The forum featured an open dialogue on issues related to the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War and the post-war period, party building in Belarus, cooperation between Vitebsk Region and the regions of Russia and China, and the significance of the "Slavianski Bazaar" festival as a symbol of unity of peoples.
Andrey Skurat addressed young employees of tax authorities, customs services, enforcement bodies, and the social protection fund.
Using the example of the criminal case against Seraphimovich S.S., found guilty by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Belarus of the genocide of the Belarusian people, the regional prosecutor explained the process of collecting evidence in a criminal case and the assistance provided by concerned citizens with an active civic stance.
– The investigation of the criminal case on the genocide of the Belarusian people, initiated by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus, is not just an isolated proceeding conducted by a criminal prosecution body; it is already a national project, – emphasized Andrey Skurat. – Everyone is involved in this project, from students to senators. This indicates that the issues of preserving historical memory and restoring historical justice are important to every resident of our Motherland.
