The 'For Safety Together' campaign is launching in the Vitebsk region
Statistics annually indicate that the predominant cause of fire-related deaths in residential buildings is the so-called "human factor" – careless, negligent actions of citizens, ignorance of rules, or conscious disregard for safety measures.
To enhance the level of safety culture among the population, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, from April 10 to 28, has organized the already traditional republican fire prevention campaign to prevent fires and deaths from them in residential buildings during the spring-summer high-risk fire season, titled "For Safety Together." The Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Energy, as well as the Belarusian Voluntary Fire Society, will join the events.
During the campaign, the focus will be on inspecting the fire safety status of households of single and lonely elderly citizens, disabled individuals, and families with children in socially dangerous situations. Informative and explanatory work will be conducted with them on observing fire safety rules, as well as informing the public about the capabilities of state organizations to provide services for ensuring their safety.
As part of the campaign, anyone can contact territorial emergency bodies and units to have the fire safety status of their home inspected.
We remind you that in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus, the responsibility for compliance with fire safety requirements in residential buildings owned by citizens under private ownership rests with their owners. Therefore, check the operability of autonomous fire detectors, and in their absence, install them in the residential premises of the household. Pay attention to the serviceability of heating equipment and electrical wiring. Do not leave children unattended by adults.
Participate in the campaign and stay safe!
