This was stated at a meeting of the regional executive committee, which discussed the socio-economic development of Vitebsk Oblast for Q1 2025 and improving the efficiency of organizations' operations.

In a conversation with journalists, Deputy Chairperson of the Regional Executive Committee Anzhelika Nikitina noted that, given the sufficiently high base for all parameters of the same period last year, the region performed commendably in Q1 2025. Industrial production growth of 102.7% was ensured (excluding oil products due to the current market situation), retail and public catering turnover, investments in fixed assets, and passenger and freight turnover were increased. The largest growth was observed in high-tech sectors – pharmaceuticals, electrical equipment, and others. All targets were met by the construction industry, including housing commissioning. The agricultural complex slightly missed some indicators. However, the lag will be eliminated by the end of May.

Currently, Vitebsk region is one of the few regions meeting the export target to the Russian Federation. In general, by the end of the first half of the year, it is planned to ensure a growth rate of foreign supplies at 105%.

94 enterprises are producing import-substituting products, and eleven are launching new projects.

Work within the framework of the "Regional Initiative" is actively underway: 4 projects have already been submitted, and another 15 are under consideration.

At the meeting of the regional executive committee, shortcomings and reserves were analyzed, which will help improve the efficiency of Vitebsk region's economy.
