The "Roads of Victory" cycling event took place in Beshenkovichi today
More than 30 locals, including representatives of the "silver age" and youth, participated in the event dedicated to the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The cycling event started at the monument to Komsomol members and youth in Komsomoltsy Park.
After a brief historical overview by Stanislav Leonenko, senior researcher at the district historical and local lore museum, the locals set off along the roads of Victory.
Their route led them across the pontoon bridge, to the memorial sign in honor of the 186th Rifle Division, to the mass graves where Soviet soldiers and partisans, prisoners of the Beshenkovichi Ghetto, and war victims are buried. They visited the Mound of Glory and the Alley of Glory. The journey concluded at the Alley of Heroes, natives of the district...
