"Virsina" of Patriotism in Vitebsk: Routes of Memory, Dialogues about the Future, and the "Tree of Wishes"
The regional center is preparing to become the main venue for the large-scale patriotic gathering "Virsina," which will take place on December 13. The event is organized by the Public Association "Patriots of Belarus" and is dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the association's formation.
The "Virsina" gathering will commence at one of Vitebsk's most iconic locations – the Emblem and Flag Square. This choice is not accidental: it was the motorcades with state symbols under the slogan "For a United Belarus" and the "Symbol of Unity!" campaign that became the calling card of the Public Association "Patriots of Belarus" and its first successful projects. These significant initiatives will form the basis of the current patriotic gathering.
Participants of the gathering will traditionally drive in a motorcade through the streets of Vitebsk. Following this, a dialogue about the past and future of their native Belarus will continue at the Open Department "Patriots of Belarus. Let's Preserve History Together," which will be organized at the V.I. Lenin Regional Library.
The vibrant finale of the day will be the thematic concert "DNA Code," which will be held at the Regional Palace of Children and Youth. Here, a solemn award ceremony for the most active participants and partners will also take place. An important part of the gathering will also be the official launch of the charity marathon "Republican Tree of Wishes." As part of this campaign, a collection of gifts for orphanage residents will be organized throughout the country.
Vladimir Babichev, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Organization "Patriots of Belarus" and Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, emphasized the special significance of the upcoming rally for the northern region:
– Our statehood originated in the Vitebsk region. This is the Motherland of our national leader, thanks to whom we live in a prosperous country! We must preserve it and pass it on to our descendants. I am sure that the event will be sincere and will touch the hearts of every participant, — he noted.

11:00 AM – "Symbol of Unity" event at the State Flag Square;
11:30 AM – "For a United Belarus" motor rally, starting from the State Flag Square (Pobedy Ave.) with further movement along the route: Stroiteley Ave. – Chernyakhovsky Ave. – Lenina St. – Zamkovaya St. – Kalinina St. – Shcherbakova St.-Naberezhnaya, 8;
12:00 PM – Open forum "Patriots of Belarus. Let's preserve history together" at the V.I. Lenin Regional Library;
2:00 PM – Thematic concert "DNA Code", award ceremony and grand opening of the charity event "Republican Christmas Tree of Wishes" in the Vitebsk region. The event will take place at the Regional Palace of Children and Youth at the address: Shcherbakova St.-Naberezhnaya.
