Involvement in Economic Circulation and Demolition of Unused Property Discussed at the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee
Bringing unused or ineffectively used property into economic circulation and its demolition is one of the important areas of activity for economic entities within the framework of the Year of Improvement. The progress of these measures in the Vitebsk region and the steps that will help fulfill the established targets in full were discussed at a meeting of the regional executive committee.
The total area of real estate owned by the region and its administrative-territorial units is 9371.71 thousand sq. m. Of these: about 2.6% are leased; over 10% are transferred under gratuitous use agreements. The share of unused areas is almost 10%.
In 2024, approximately 670 real estate objects were brought into economic circulation and demolished; over 120 were sold, of which 73 were sold for one basic unit.
The experience of Vitebsk and Vitebsk district, where 27 and 11 buildings were respectively brought into economic circulation, was noted as positive.
The region fully fulfilled the plan for the demolition of 230 objects of communal property.
Petr Korobach, Chairman of the State Property Committee of the Regional Executive Committee, emphasized that priority measures should be applied to the demolition of dilapidated buildings and structures. A list of such objects exists.
In 2025, it is necessary to bring into economic circulation, demolish, and use for own purposes 1015 real estate objects. The quality of the work performed, the cleanup of construction waste, and the reclamation of the freed land plots should not be overlooked.
