The social policy of the Republic of Belarus is aimed at ensuring a decent standard and quality of life for Belarusians and strengthening the demographic potential. Within the framework of sustainable development, public health is recognized as the most important element of national wealth, and is increasingly understood as the main driving force and resource for social and economic development.
Today, not only medical professionals but also politicians are discussing ways to improve it. Public sentiment is changing, and health is increasingly associated with success and opportunities in people's minds.
Since 2019, the state project "Healthy Cities and Towns" has been implemented in our country.
Its essence lies in the fact that it is an organizational model of new relationships between existing urban structures and the population directly within the framework of joint activities aimed at improving public health and living environment, increasing physical activity, organizing healthy eating, and preventing harmful habits.
The project's objective is to ensure public health as a top priority of urban policy and the residents' own awareness, and its approaches allow for successfully addressing public health improvement issues in both urban and rural environments across virtually all social aspects. The project's goal is to create a settlement that lives by the principles of a healthy lifestyle, where the population is responsible for its own health, and conditions are in place for its preservation and strengthening.
