Harvest Begins: 56% of Winter Barley Harvested in Beshenkovichi District
It is a crucial time in the fields of the district – the winter barley harvest. Despite the fact that weather whims have made their adjustments and delayed the start of fieldwork, Beshenkovichi agrarians have promptly joined the work. Since the beginning of the week, all farms without exception, where this valuable grain crop is cultivated, have begun threshing.
In total, winter barley is cultivated on 993 hectares in the district. According to operational data as of yesterday, 555 hectares have been harvested, which is 56% of the total area. The current yield is 46.1 centners per hectare. This is a good result that instills confidence in the successful completion of the campaign.
On the first day of the mass harvest, the Chairperson of the District Executive Committee, Galina Unukovich, visited the fields of the farms. The head of the district personally assessed the progress of the work, communicated with managers, specialists, and machine operators, and held operational meetings directly in the field.
"The upcoming favorable sunny days must be used as effectively as possible. We have literally a few days to complete the barley harvest," emphasized Galina Unukovich. "The primary task is to gather the harvest promptly and without losses, engaging all available equipment and mobilizing human resources for this purpose. Every centner is worth its weight in gold now."
The Chairperson of the District Executive Committee placed particular emphasis on the fact that the barley harvest is only the beginning of a busy period.
"Concurrently, we must maintain strict control over the readiness for harvesting subsequent winter crops: rapeseed, rye, wheat, and triticale. Logistics must be clearly organized to ensure that machinery is not idle and that grain is immediately transported to the threshing floor," noted the head of the district. "I want to thank all the farmers for their dedication. Agriculture is worked by people who genuinely love the land, and they do everything to make a significant contribution to the country's overall harvest."
Currently, over two dozen grain harvesting combines are engaged in the fields. The machinery is ready, and the machine operators are in high spirits. Combine operators and drivers work from early morning until late evening to gather every grain. In the farms, grain processing is in full swing: drying and sorting to ensure the preservation of a high-quality harvest. The district is confident that the plan for harvesting early grains will be fully implemented within optimal agro-technical deadlines.
