A Life for a Bottle of Vodka

A dissolute life and excessive alcohol consumption led Krasnik, previously untried, a repair fitter at UKP "Beshenkovichsky Kommunalnik", to the dock. The hardworking but alcohol-abusing young man found friends through this habit. He met a young woman who was not well-regarded. The relationship ended before it even began. For Krasnik, it's one step from love to hate; he thinks nothing of hitting a woman.
From Krasnik's testimony, it is known that on that terrible day, June 10, 2017, he was drinking alcohol in the company of a neighbor, and then his former cohabitant and her mother. They drank beer, vodka, and spirits. Krasnik showed aggression while drinking, but the victim managed to escape. After that, Krasnik went to sleep, and when he got up at night, he found his acquaintance M. in the kitchen. She was heavily intoxicated and barely standing. Krasnik discovered that a bottle of vodka and spirits were missing, which greatly angered him. M. did not answer his questions, only mumbled. Then he began to punch her in the face, inflicting no less than 10 blows, which was confirmed by the forensic medical examination report. From the blows, M. fell to the kitchen floor, and while she was on all fours, he delivered several kicks with his left foot, though he doesn't remember where they landed. He stopped the beating, left M. in the same spot, and went back to sleep. At night, he went to the kitchen and, by the sounds M. was making, understood that she was still in the house, and went back to sleep. When he woke up in the morning, he realized she was dead and was very frightened. He locked the door and went to a traffic police officer, to whom he reported what had happened, and then, with his help, filed a report with the duty unit of the District Department of Internal Affairs.
In this situation, a human life and a bottle of vodka were weighed in the balance. The vodka outweighed, and the young woman was brutally beaten by Krasnik without hesitation or regret. M. died on the spot from the injuries sustained. Krasnik committed an atrocity that causes righteous indignation and outrage, both for its moral ugliness and for the cruelty and severity of the consequences.
The grief of parents who outlived their own daughter is immense and boundless. Nothing can compensate for the loss suffered. And a person who has taken it upon himself to dispose of the lives of others must bear a deserved punishment for his barbarity.
The investigation into the case lasted more than 5 months, meticulously establishing the events of that June night in 2017, which became tragic and the last in M.'s life.
Krasnik is, on the one hand, a hardworking person, and on the other hand, an immensely cruel person. Periodically, cruelty breaks out, which is expressed in his committing unlawful acts, the public danger of which is constantly increasing.
Krasnik gave different testimonies about the circumstances of what happened during the court session and the preliminary investigation, but he admitted that M.'s death resulted from his actions, from the blows he inflicted, although he did not intend to kill her.
The evidence presented to the court and examined during the trial fully exposed Krasnik in committing the crime he was accused of.
