A concert organ to be installed in Vitebsk Oblast Philharmonic

A concert organ will be installed in the Vitebsk Oblast Philharmonic, director of the philharmonic Elena Podolyak told BelTA.

The wind-instrument was ordered in one of the famous companies in the German town of Owingem which produced organs for the Moscow Music House and the Perm Philharmonic. In Vitebsk the instrument will be transported in early May. According to Elena Podolyak, the organ is made for a concrete concert hall. Its tuning is one of the most important stage of its installation, the specialist noted. A tuner was invited from France specially for this instrument. He will work there for a month.
 
The Vitebsk Oblast Philharmonic will become the first one among other regional concert halls where such instrument is to be installed. The organ was purchased due to the financial support of the Vitebsk oblast executive committee. According to the director of the philharmonic, until now residents and guests of the city could hear the organ music in the St. Barbara Catholic Church only. The concerts were a success. 

All installation works are expected to be completed by early July, by the opening of the international festival “Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk”.
