Belarus' Grodno Oblast, Russia's Karelia sign agreement on cooperation in social security

The delegation of the Grodno Oblast social security system is visiting Karelia on a working trip on 22-24 June. The purpose of the visit is to strengthen cooperation between the two regions in social services.

The main areas of interaction, enshrined in the agreement, are the establishment and development of direct partnerships for the exchange of experience on social security, social services, guardianship services and guardianship agencies, and a number of others.

The Lida District Center for Social Services and the State Budgetary Institution of Social Services “Integrated Center for Social Services of the Republic of Karelia” also agreed to develop cooperation.

The Grodno delegation visited a number of institutions of the Republic of Karelia, the Integrated Center for Social Services, the Nadezhda Children's Assistance Center, the Petrozavodsk Nursing Home for Veterans.

The Ministry of Social Security of the Republic of Karelia and the Labor, Employment and Social Security Committee of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee signed an agreement on cooperation in Petrozavodsk, Chairperson of the Labor, Employment and Social Security Committee of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee Olga Sedelnik told BelTA.

The delegation also attended the opening of the federal stage of the job fair “Work of Russia”.

The visit included round tables on the exchange of experience in employment, social services for vulnerable categories of citizens and other areas.

“Grodno Oblast's experience in developing work with young disabled people, attraction of public organizations and associations to provide assistance to elderly and disabled citizens was of great interest to Russian colleagues,” Olga Sedelnik said. “Grodno Oblast shared its experience of elderly volunteers. There is mutual interest in project activities aimed at the exchange of historical and cultural heritage.”
