Belarus president foundation to allocate Br1.25m to finance culture, art projects

The Belarus President Foundation for the Support of Culture and Art will allocate Br1.25 million for implementing a number of projects of cultural significance. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed the relevant executive order on 7 June, BelTA has learned.

The foundation will provide support to the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus for the sake of staging the new play “Passionate memory diary”, which will be based on national 20th century opera and ballet performances dedicated to the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

Saint Euphrosyne Stavropegic Convent in Polotsk will be able to finance certain kinds of reconstruction work.

The implementation of these projects will make a significant contribution to preserving the historic memory about the heroic deed of the Soviet liberator nation through high academic art. It will also enable excellent organization of events dedicated to the 900th anniversary of the Saint Euphrosyne Stavropegic Convent.
