Belarusian foreign minister to hoist Belarus flag in front of SCO building in Beijing
Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov will visit Beijing soon where he will take part in a solemn ceremony of hoisting the country’s flag in front of the building of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization secretariat, SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming told reporters after the summit in Astana.
The official noted that once the summit in Astana is over and the SCO secretariat delegation returns to Beijing, the solemn ceremony of hoisting the state flag of the Republic of Belarus in front of the building of the secretariat will take place. Heads of diplomatic missions of the SCO countries will take part in the ceremony.
Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov will also personally take part in the solemn ceremony in Beijing, Zhang Ming said.
A Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit took place in Kazakhstan’s capital city Astana on 3-4 July. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization was founded in Shanghai on 15 June 2001. The organization initially included Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. India and Pakistan joined the organization in 2017. Iran joined them in 2023. The Republic of Belarus became a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on 4 July 2024.
