A meeting of the CIS Commission of Commissioners for Children's Rights (Ombudsmen) will be held at the CIS headquarters on 1 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
The meeting will discuss the status of child protection in the CIS states. In particular, the members of the commission will get acquainted with the experience of implementing the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On the Rights of the Child", the protection of children's rights in Armenia, the practice of monitoring the activities of childcare institutions in Tajikistan, the development of mechanisms to promote the right of children to education in Kyrgyzstan.
The children's ombudsmen also intend to consider the development of an index for the well-being of children of the CIS member states, to outline the measures to facilitate the integration of labor migrants into the society of the host state, and the prevention of juvenile delinquency using the tools of restorative mediation.
