Egypt shows interest in greenhouse vegetable growing, poultry processing and bakery industries in Belarus, Belarus' Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats told reporters.
The delegation of the Arab Republic of Egypt arrived in Vitebsk Oblast on a visit on 30 January. The delegation is studying the agricultural potential of Belarus. An exhibition was prepared in Orsha to showcase the products made by the leading agricultural enterprises of Vitebsk Oblast.
"The head of state has set a task to step up the economic cooperation with Africa in general and with Egypt in particular. Our guests are interested in greenhouse vegetable growing, poultry processing, bakery and some other processing industries which are well-developed in Vitebsk Oblast. We have presented our advancements in meat and milk processing and will show our practices in greenhouse vegetable growing. Then we are going to discuss the possible avenues of cooperation that are interesting both for Belarus and Egypt," Leonid Zayats said. He noted that the visit has just started. The results of the visit will be summed up during a meeting in the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry on 1 February. "Our guests will share their impressions and considerations on the areas of future cooperation," Leonid Zayats said.
The Egyptian delegation got acquainted with the exhibition of agriculture enterprises in Orsha. The guests will also visit the floriculture enterprise Agromir.by where they will get acquainted with greenhouse facilities and flower cultivation technologies. There are plans to conduct negotiations between the Egyptian delegation and the management of Agromir.by.
