The Smolensk public organization of the Russian Youth Union and the Vitebsk Oblast Committee of the Belarusian youth union BRSM plan to develop cooperation through joint projects in 2017, First Secretary of the Vitebsk Oblast Committee of the BRSM Youth Union Viktor Glushin told BelTA.
It is expected that the corresponding agreement on cooperation will be signed during an open dialogue entitled as Youth Unions: Different or Alike?, which is due to take place in Smolensk Oblast on 13-14 January. "The two organizations have wide experience in working with the youth. We want not just to share it, but also implement joint programs, projects, and events in order to develop the creative potential of students, involve the youth in the social life of our regions, and implement the state youth policy," Viktor Glushin explained.
In 2017 Smolensk plans to hold a number of events to boost international youth cooperation. Applications have already been opened for the Russian-Belarusian festival of modern creativity Towards the Stars. The results will be summarized in April. The Russian-Belarusian meeting of children and youth is scheduled for August, with the bilateral seminar-forum on modern art slated for September.
During the open dialogue the Vitebsk Oblast Committee of the BRSM Youth Union will present a plan of events in Belarus.
