The healthcare system built in Belarus allows providing a full range of medical services, Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko said at the opening of the 29th international healthcare forum Healthcare of Belarus 2024 that includes an exhibition and an extensive business program, BelTA has learned.
Igor Petrishenko noted that Belarus declared 2024 the Year of Quality. “The health status of each person depends on the quality of medical care. Everyone in Belarus has an access to medical services: from residents of small villages and farmsteads to people living in oblast centers and the capital city. The established healthcare system allows us to provide the full range of medical services to patients,” he said.
The deputy prime minister added that maintaining good health is a responsibility of each person, while the medical community can help with diagnostics and treatment.
Separately, Igor Petrishenko spoke about the export of healthcare services. “We are proud that last year alone we exported over $40 million worth of medical services to 140 countries of the world. Our education system is doing pretty well, too. Students from more than 50 countries receive high-quality medical education here. Last year alone, the export of education services amounted to more than $30 million,” said Igor Petrishenko.
Speaking about the exhibition, he noted that it showcases the best developments of national research and treatment centers, advanced clinics, in other words, all products and services that help to stay healthy. During the business program, new approaches and techniques to provide medical care will be discussed and, most importantly, developed.
According to him, Belarusian healthcare community will put on display a number of developments and solutions, including artificial intelligence solutions. “But no matter how advanced artificial intelligence and technologies are, at the end of the day everything depends on a doctor’s qualifications and knowledge,” the deputy prime minister is confident.
This year the forum is timed to the 105th anniversary of the Belarusian healthcare system. The format of a single information and exhibition space creates new opportunities for promoting innovative healthcare products, brings together leading domestic and foreign manufacturers of medical equipment, medicines, as well as healthcare professionals.
