Russia to drop COVID-19 testing requirement for Belarusians traveling by air

Russia is canceling the COVID-19 testing requirement for air travelers holding a Belarusian passport, reads the statement of the emergency response center for preventing the import and spread of the coronavirus infection in Russia, BelTA informs. 

“The emergency response center decided to allow Belarusian nationals traveling by air not to present the negative PCR test result for COVID-19 upon arrival in Russia. Corresponding amendments will be introduced to the Resolution of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Russian Federation No. 7 dated 18 March 2020. Citizens of other countries will still need to present the COVID-19 negative test results. 

Earlier, the COVID-19 testing requirement was canceled for Belarusian nationals entering Russia by train and by road. 

The emergency response center also decided to drop, starting from 15 July, the temporary restrictions on crossing the Russian border that were introduced in line with Government's Resolution No. 635-r “On temporary restrictions on entry of foreign citizens and stateless persons into the Russian Federation and temporary suspension of registration and issuance of visas and invitations” as of 16 March 2020 and Resolution No. 763-r “On temporary restrictions on traveling through road, rail, pedestrian, river and mixed checkpoints across the border of the Russian Federation, as well as through the land section of the Russia-Belarus border” as of 27 March 2020. 

“The Government's Resolution No. 635-r as of 16 March 2020 and Government's Resolution No. 763-r as of 27 March 2020 will be declared invalid. The corresponding document will be published additionally,” the emergency response center informed.
