Union State MPs to consider new hydrometeorological security program

MPs of the Belarus-Russia Union State are set to consider the concept of a new hydrometeorological security program. The topic will be discussed at the session of the Ecology, Nature Management, and Accident Management Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia which will take place in Minsk and Moscow on 10 March via a video conference, BelTA learned from the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly. 

“The MPs are expected to review the implementation of the program of joint activities of Russia and Belarus in 2021 as part of the Union State to protect the population and rehabilitate the territories affected by the Chernobyl disaster, as well as to summarize the results of the program “Development of the Union State Hydrometeorological Security System for 2017-2021”. The MPs will get familiar with the development of the draft concept of the Union State program “Ensuring hydrometeorological security amid climate change” for 2023-2027,” the press service said. 

Representatives of the Standing Committee of the Union State, the Emergencies Ministries of Belarus and Russia, Belhydromet and Roshydromet are invited to take part in the session.
