Vitebsk Oblast expands export geography

Belarus' Vitebsk Oblast has expanded its export geography to 77 countries. In January-November 2015 the region shipped its products to eight new markets, BelTA learned from the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee.

Last year, the region started to sell products to India, Cameroon, South Korea, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and Montenegro. It resumed exports of milk powder, whey, lubricating oil additives, door panels, and veterinary drugs to Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Lithuania, Poland, United Arab Emirates, and Mongolia. Besides, it boosted its trade ties with Russia's Pskov Oblast, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Rostov Oblast, Yekaterinburg Oblast, Kaluga Oblast, Lipetsk Oblast, Smolensk Oblast, and Moscow Oblast, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Latvia, and others.

In January-November 2015, Vitebsk Oblast exported $1,648 million worth of products, which is 54.6% to the level of the same period of 2014. The export of services amounted to $153.6 million (77.8%). The region had a foreign trade surplus (not considering oil and oil products) of $361.5 million.
