Zayats: Care and kindness we give to children will come back

Keeping in touch with the younger generation is important for our society, for its unity. Care and kindness we give to children will come back in the future, Belarusian Vice Prime Minister Leonid Zayats told reporters after visiting the Lida District Center for Developmental Education and Rehabilitation as part of the Our Children charity campaign, BelTA reports.

"Our children should be showered with care and attention from adults. It is the care of families and children that our country attaches great importance to. The president of our country keeps this issue under control. It is very right that in the run-up to the New Year, members of the government and organizations come to wish happy holidays to children. It doesn't matter whose children they are. We need to keep in touch with the younger generation. We want our society to be monolithic and to live in unity. After all, this is our strength," Leonid Zayats said.

The deputy prime minister added: “Only together can we face the challenges of today, including the external ones. Care and kindness we give to children will come back. This continuity will live on for centuries, because we pass on these good traditions to our children.”

“We have a wonderful tradition in Belarus - on the eve of the New Year season we visit children's homes to congratulate kids on the coming holidays. Every child waits for miracles, magic, wants to meet with Father Frost, the Snow Maiden, to see the New Year tree, and make a wish. All of us were children and waited for New Year presents. Today we are very happy to come to Lida to wish the kids a happy New Year and give them presents,” said Leonid Zayats.

The children of the Lida District Center for Developmental Education and Rehabilitation got a certificate for a set of children's playground equipment from the Council of Ministers of Belarus.
