The first day of the Marathon of Unity will kick off in the city of metallurgists, Zhlobin, on 25 October, BelTA learned from the organizers.
Zhlobin will be hosting visitors and participants of the nationwide social and cultural campaign Marathon of Unity on 25-26 October. This is the second stop on its route throughout Gomel Oblast and the third one from its start.
A new project of the Marathon of Unity called “We Are Doing One Thing!” will be launched in Zhlobin. The project focuses on the reflection of industrial unity and dialogue between partner enterprises. Belarusian Steel Works is set to host a meeting with the management of Belshina.
The Marathon of Unity participants are expected to visit the so-called Children's Khatyn, a monument to child victims of the Great Patriotic War in the agrotown of Krasny Bereg, and also Koziell Poklewski Estate.
The students of Zhlobin State College of Service Industry and Zhlobin Metallurgical College are scheduled to attend the Non-Boring Non-Lecture. Informal communication with famous speakers will include elements of interactive game. The most active participants of the meeting will get prizes, including tickets to the Time Has Chosen Us concert.
The winners of the regional stage of the open drawing contest for elementary school students “We are Together” and the national essay contest “What is Unity” will be announced on the same day.
On Saturday, 26 October, the Ice Palace of Zhlobin will welcome both residents and visitors of the city for an outdoor festival. The event will feature an array of festivities, including the BRSM Youth Union’s quest “This is the homeland of mine”. Its winners will get invitation tickets to the Time Has Chosen Us concert.
The Meet-and-Greet event at the railway station will feature prominent figures. In Zhlobin the event will be attended by lead singer of the Aura band, holder of the Francisk Skorina Medal Yuliya Bykova, Honored Figure of Art of Belarus, producer and composer Yevgeny Oleinik, and Director General of the National Library of Belarus, MP, head of the public association Znaniye Vadim Gigin.
“The Future of Belarus is in Your Hands" mural will be a present to the city from the Marathon of Unity campaign.
A mobile exposition of the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War will open to the public near the Ice Palace on 10.00.
BelTA news agency will present two expositions in Zhlobin. The Belarus. Takeoff project will be displayed at the railway station. The Sovereign Belarus exposition telling the story of the country's achievements in political, social and economic sectors will be showcased at the Ice Palace.
A train of food trucks will offer a variety of treats at the Ice Palace.
The Time Has Chosen Us concert will wrap up the event in Zhlobin.
The initial route of the Marathon of Unity includes 13 cities: Brest, Baranovichi, Pinsk, Lida, Grodno, Soligorsk, Gomel, Zhlobin, Molodechno, Bobruisk, Mogilev, Vitebsk and Orsha.
