Belarus, Azerbaijan agree on joint production of complex fertilizers

Belarus and Azerbaijan have agreed on joint production of complex mineral fertilizers, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko told the journalists following the talks with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev in Baku on 16 May, BelTA has learned.
The head of state recalled that Belarus and Azerbaijan are implementing a roadmap for the development of bilateral cooperation. The intergovernmental commission will soon meet in Minsk. Taking into account the new agreements, the parties decided to update this document.

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, some things have grown outdated and there are the projects that the parties seek to implement. One of them is the joint production of complex fertilizers.

"We have agreed on the joint production of complex mineral fertilizers. Why delay? We will saturate the domestic market so that Azerbaijan does not look for any fertilizers somewhere, but have them locally. We have the technology, we are ready to do this and provide the entire region. It is colossal: Iran, Pakistan, India. They consume a huge amount of mineral fertilizers. We will offer complex mineral fertilizers. We need to get things off the ground  by November. We have set such a goal," Aleksandr Lukashenko said. It is expected that the status of the roadmap will be analyzed by the heads of state in November. At this time, Baku will host the UN Climate Change Conference, and the Belarusian president plans to take part in it.
