Belarus, Lithuania discuss cooperation prospects

MINSK, 27 January (BelTA) – Ambassador of Belarus to Lithuania Alexander Korol presented copies of credentials to Director of the Department of the State and Diplomatic Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Rasa Kairiene on 27 January, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian Embassy in Lithuania.

The same day Alexander Korol met with Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Andrius Krivas and Director of the Eastern Neighborhood Policy Department of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry Edminas Bagdonas.

“The parties spoke highly of the state and prospects of Belarus-Lithuania cooperation, first of all, cooperation in trade and economy, transit and investments. They discussed ways to intensify contacts in culture and tourism and to improve the legal framework of the bilateral cooperation. They expressed mutual interest in a constructive dialogue on the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant,” the Belarusian Embassy informed.

“They agreed to keep cooperating in all the areas of mutual interest both in the bilateral format and the Belarus-EU format,” the embassy underlined.
