Belarus President's fund allocates almost Br8bn for talented youth support in 2016

In accordance with the executive order of the Belarus President signed on 17 May, Br7.9 billion will be spent on the social support of talented school and university students in 2016, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The document approved the resolution of the special fund of the President to award 100 students.

Monetary prizes ranging from Br8.4 million to Br11.55 million and lapel badges have been presented to 20 winners of international academic excellence competitions and conferences.

Monetary prizes in the amount of Br840,000 and lapel badges have been conferred on two winners of the 12th International Zhautykov Olympiad in Mathematics, Physics and Informatics.

Monetary prizes have been also presented to 44 winners of the 2015 school competition of the Union State "Russia and Belarus: Historical and spiritual unity" and 34 winners of the 17th Belarusian tournament of young mathematicians.

The President's resolution is aimed at providing targeted state assistance to talented students, creating favorable conditions for their development.
