Lukashenko praises Belarusian armored forces as reliable shield against intentions of any aggressors
Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to veteran tank crew members, military personnel of mechanized formations, and tank units of the Armed Forces as well as personnel of tank repair enterprises of the country on the occasion of the professional holiday – Tanker’s Day, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.
The congratulation reads: “This holiday is a testimony of the recognition of accomplishments of the tank forces in the noble cause of serving the Fatherland, a tribute to the memory of the heroic feat accomplished by all the generations of tank crew members, who gave their lives to the Motherland.” The head of state reminded that 80 years ago tank forces played the key role in the successful completion of Operation Bagration, in the liberation of Belarus’ capital, and in banishing the enemy from the Belarusian land.
“The current generation of tank crew members reveres victorious traditions of the heroic generation of winners, constantly improving their professionalism and the tactics of deploying the formidable combat vehicles in modern conditions,” the president pointed out.
Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked that Tanker’s Day is also a holiday for engineers, designers, repairmen, and other specialists of the domestic defense industry, who keep the vehicles constantly ready for combat.
“I am convinced that tank forces and units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus will remain a reliable shield to defend the country and the nation against intentions of any aggressors, that they will remain a guarantor of peace and security,” the head of state stressed.
The president wished everyone strong health, peace, prosperity, and new combat accomplishments in service of native Belarus.
