A delegation of the Belarusian Embassy in China visited the city of Xi'an in Shaanxi Province to participate in the Xi'an Silk Road International Tourism Expo 2023, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Beijing.

The diplomats took part in the opening ceremony and the forum to discuss promotion of tourist cities sitting along the Silk Road outside China. At this forum Senior Adviser to the Embassy Oksana Konstantinovich made a presentation about the cultural and tourist potential of the Republic of Belarus.

The embassy arranged the work of the national pavilion that highlighted Belarus' tourism and culture. In addition to information about Belarus' tourist and cultural sites, the pavilion showcased Belarusian food products, including Kommunarka chocolate and Bellakt powdered milk. Belarusian products aroused a great interest in the participants and visitors.

The Belarusian diplomats also met with representatives of the region's business community, including GuoGuo Crossboundary, a cross-border e-commerce company. The parties discussed cooperation prospects in trade, economy, investment and humanitarian sphere, and exchanged views on promising avenues of cooperation in the field of culture and tourism.

Xi'an is the administrative center of Shaanxi Province and its largest scientific, technological, educational and cultural center. The city has a population of over 10 million. The region is known for its well-developed petrochemical industry, mechanical engineering, and food production.
