“School Sports Festival” in volleyball among
young men: Beshenkovichi residents are the first in the republic!
The team
of secondary school No. 1 of Beshenkovichi settlementnamed after I. Strochko
won the republican mass sports event “School Sports Festival” in volleyball
among young men.
The school
sports festival is a large-scale project of the Ministry of Education of the
Republic of Belarus and the Republican Center for Physical Education and Sports
of Pupils and Students. Its participants compete in seven sports:
mini-football, 3x3 basketball, volleyball, chess, table tennis, badminton and
swimming. One of the main objectives of the festival is to identify children
gifted in sports.
Our young volleyball players began their path to the coveted first place in
such a significant competition in last October. First, they became the best
team in the district stage of the festival, then in the zonal stage. And on
March 11, they became the absolute winners of the region and proved that they
are worthy of representing the northern region of the country at the final
national stage. It took place from April 10 to 13 in the capital.
The guys, having won three games in a row, competed in the final with the team
from Minsk region. And, in a bitter struggle, they snatched victory from them!
Egor Askero (captain), Artem Kryukov, Sergey Kryukov, Ivan Antikhovich, Ilya
Kolesnikov, Stanislav Zenkov, Matvey Yaremchuk, Oleg Shelopakhin - this is the
team composition. All young men have been training for several years at
Beshenkovichi Youth Sports School with the talented coach Evgeniy Kovalev,
annually take part in various competitions and become winners. Young athletes
also hone their skills with teachers in physical education lessons. They
presented their first school at the festival.
“I was completely confident in victory,” says the coach. – The guys were
initially focused on it. We trained hard. As a result - the best in the
republic! Well done!”
We congratulate our young fellow countrymen and wish them success at the
International School Sports Festival “Russia - Belarus”. It is to this event
that the winners are sent, according to the conditions of the past sports
event.
